Last Christmas as a Threesome

We had a great trip home to Kansas. I feel good about the number of visits we were able to make to family and friends. It’s nearly impossible to see everyone when we’re there, so if we missed you, I’ll try to make it up next time!

Christmas Day itself was tiring with three kids under the age of four…but really fun. Helena was more interested in getting every smidgen of wrapping paper off of the presents than in the presents themselves. She does really like her new Dora blanket, though, and her new instrument set. She made everyone play an instrument with her that morning. So funny.

I was pretty sure she was going to smack me in the face with those maracas!

My nephew Kane was very excited about the box his new basketball goal came in…jumped right up on it and tried to jump off it just as quickly. My sister was playing defense.

Ash made a killer Julia Child-esque Beef Bourgignon for Christmas dinner at my mom’s. Best beef stew I’ve ever had. It literally took him most of the day to make and fuss over.

We’re so lucky to have such great family and friends!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, too!!!

17 Weeks...

I’m feeling much better of late. Just still tired and missing the days when I was pregnant with Helena and able to nap morning, noon and night (literally).

My food cravings have gotten much more tolerable—although I’m still very picky right now. I can’t get enough juice…at one point I think we had five different kinds of it in our fridge.

I’m also craving a lot of things that I don’t normally eat a lot of: shrimp, potatoes, cereal, popcorn, these really yummy nutella and berry crepes from this place by my office, yogurt, and Sausage McGriddles from McDonald's. If you've never had a McGriddle, I'd highly recommend it. It's basically a sausage, syrup, pancake sandwich. In my head I tell myself it has a lot of protein, so that outweighs the badness of McDonald's and two syrup-filled pancakes acting as buns.

And as with Helena the veggie cravings are few and far in between—some things I’ve deemed as suitable substitutes for salads and the like include sweet potato chips, potatoes, green bean casserole and ‘salad’ as long as it’s a side dish to some type of Mexican food.

We had a great vacation to Kansas and loved seeing everyone again. More on that later…once I figure out how to download the 800 pics we took from my new camera onto the computer.
